Event Details
In late spring each year, horseshoe crabs emerge from the deep water to spawn on beaches in South Jersey. Several species of migratory shorebirds rely on the horseshoe crab eggs as a food source to fuel the final leg of their journey as far north as the arctic circle. Learn about the different shorebird species, when and where to see them, and how climate change and habitat loss may impact these populations.
Emily Reed, Director of the NJ Audubon’s Nature Center of Cape May, returns to inform and inspire us with an understanding of the intricate relationships among birds and other animals, their life cycles and migrations, their habitats, and the threats they face.
Presented in partnership with the Washington Township Environmental Commission.
Open to all adults. Registration required.
