Join us for an all-ages storytime featuring family-friendly stories, songs, and fun!

Do you want to learn how to knit or crochet?  Join us for a beginner's class with volunteer Flora Bacchues.  Please bring a skein of yarn, and a set of size 8 knitting needles and/or an H or I crochet hook.  This program is open to everyone ages 18 and up.  Advance online or phone registration is required.   

For children ages 0-29 months and their caregivers. This is a fun-filled twenty-minute session that uses rhymes, songs, puppets, and more to stimulate the learning process of babies and young toddlers. 

Join us for a thirty-minute music- and dance-based storytime for children ages 30 months (2.5 years) and up.

It’s GAME TIME! From board games to building challenges, from trivia to LEGO free plays, from cards to online, from in person to virtual – we play games!

If it's a board game night, we could be playing: Chess, checkers, Battleship, Connect Four, Clue, Villainous, 5 Second Rule, cards, Sushi Go, Exploding Kittens, Gloom and more! If it’s Hybrid, we could be playing any of the Jackbox Party Packs or trivia. If it’s virtual, it’s likely Among Us.

For online gaming, access to ZOOM and a smartphone or tablet is needed to play. Game Time is open to library cardholders in grades 6-12. Preference is given to Heggan Library cardholders.  Register online and email Librarian Barb at bpilling@hegganlibrary.org for any log-in information when you’re joining us virtually. Please join us for a twenty-minute active storytime for 0-24 months that focuses on using lap rhymes, fingerplays, music, and movement, as well as very short stories.

This is a fun filled thirty-minute non-traditional, active storytime based around movements, parachute play, and gross motor play for 24-36 months. Storytime will sometimes include parachute, bubbles, hula hoops, rhythm sticks, and/or more.

Do you like to write? Do you like playing with words or pictures to tell a story? Are poetry and lyrics more your style? Do you want to write a book someday? Why not start today? Through mysteries, fantasies, horror stories, histories, adventures, essays, letters, and more, the Writing Club explores and creates a variety of writings both individual and collective. 

Join us to discuss writing, get feedback on your works in progress, and get closer to creating your great work! This club gives young writers support and encouragement! This is a hybrid program. For artists in grades K-5. Join us as each month as we learn about a famous artist or illustrator, explore their techniques, and give their art style a try ourselves!

Is your goal to earn a little money by babysitting? Do you want to have answers for many of the what-ifs of taking care of younger siblings and children? This program is designed to give teens and tweens the tools needed to build confidence, find success, and earn some money along the way.

From preconceived expectations through safety issues, we discuss how having a babysitting plan with numerous activity options and journaling can make the experience an enjoyable one. Whether house, sitting, babysitting, or pet sitting, we’ll discuss it all. This group is open to teens and tweens in grades 6-12. Preference is given to Heggan Library cardholders. Register now.
