It’s GAME TIME! From board games to building challenges, from trivia to LEGO free plays, from cards to online, from in person to virtual – we play games!

If it's a board game night, we could be playing: Chess, checkers, Battleship, Connect Four, Clue, Villainous, 5 Second Rule, cards, Sushi Go, Exploding Kittens, Gloom and more! If it’s Hybrid, we could be playing any of the Jackbox Party Packs or trivia. If it’s virtual, it’s likely Among Us.

For online gaming, access to ZOOM and a smartphone or tablet is needed to play. Game Time is open to library cardholders in grades 6-12. Preference is given to Heggan Library cardholders.  Register online and email Librarian Barb at bpilling@hegganlibrary.org for any log-in information when you’re joining us virtually. Join us for this special book discussion series geared toward middle school and favorite juvenile works. This book club meets each month to discuss popular authors and series. 

The Tween Book Club experience is social and a great way to motivate kids to read, get them talking about books they’ve read or listened to, and have them share ideas and perspectives. By sharing loved stories, tweens help motive others to explore works they might not have otherwise. Selections for each month are made by tweens who are willing to share their love of particular books and series.

The Tween Book Club is open to interested book lovers in grades 6-12. Preference is given to Heggan Library cardholders. Register now.

Explore your interest in art with friends. Participants will have time, space, and materials to create. This monthly club will be led by a Teen Advisory Board member and is meant to allow teens to explore all things ART! Come check it out and have fun while exploring favorite artistic mediums and hanging out with like-minded friends.
Meetings include discussions, art challenges, time for participants to work on individual projects, collaborations with fellow members, or simply hanging out while incubating one’s creative genius. Come join us to create and have a supportive sounding board for your creativity. The Art Club is open to Teens and Tween in grades 6-12. Preference is given to Heggan Library cardholders. It's time for a Teen and Tween Crafting! Ready to transform basic supplies into something creative and wonderful? Interested in jewelry making, origami, diamond art, unique accessories, ornaments, paper beadmaking, bookbinding, or card making? This group might be for you. Using crafting supplies, we’ll make paper beads, duct tape fabric, or clay shapes to turn into something amazing. Using found items, we’ll use our creativity to make something unique.

From suncatchers and squishy shapes to journals and satchels, the possibilities are endless. What will we be working on this month? Come join us to find out and CRAFT something unique! Would you like to learn more about the cultures that make up Washington Township? Would you like to learn more about your own? Come join the Teen & Tween Heritage Club!

Each month we'll explore our different cultures. Teen leaders will determine the focus culture and the activities we'll explore. Activities can include: making crafts/items that are representative of a culture, foods specific to a culture, spending time online of one of our ancestry programs, and/or possibly learning some key words in the language of the culture. The topics are up to the teen presenter.

From preconceived expectations through safety issues, we discuss how having a babysitting plan with numerous activity options and journaling can make the experience an enjoyable one.
